Louis is an exceptional chaperone and children’s general manager, with outstanding care and attention given to the young people throughout The Book Thief production. His diligence and knowledge of regulations made the process seamless, safe in the knowledge that our young people were able to do their best work in a safe environment. Louis communicates very well with everyone and cares deeply about the experience the young performers have whilst working, during tutoring hours, and during down time whilst on tour. He is warm with a wonderful sense of humour, making for fantastic working relationships with all those he works with.
I have known Louis for the last 8 years in his capacity as a theatre producer in Cambridge. In 2017, Louis asked me to be the Chairman of Cambridge Theatre Company and since then we have worked closely together to drive the success of the charity.
Louis has a phenomenal energy and passion for theatre, specifically focused on encouraging young people to explore and develop their skills in this area.
He is a passionate advocate for the medium of theatre developing emotional intelligence and is able to bring together high quality production teams that are unrivalled in the local theatre scene.
Louis' skills as a man-manager and administrator mean that he is able to juggle multiple projects whilst not compromising on quality. The fact that he is able to achieve the level of success he has whilst also working a full-time role is amazing. I am so excited to see what he can achieve as he embarks on this next stage of his career and cannot recommend him highly enough.

Our son has spent 6 months with Louis as Head Chaperone, whilst on a UK tour.
Being a Head chaperone is obviously an extremely demanding role, but Louis was just perfect for the job! He had fun with the kids, and they all respected him. As parents we knew he was in safe hands with Louis and his team. Communication was excellent throughout, which, for us, living so far away was a key element. You also knew that he really cared about each and every one of them and always had time for them if any problems arose being away from home.

Louis was the Head Chaperone when my daughter was part of the School of Rock UK Tour and, at only 9 years old, it felt like a huge step for us all for her to be away from home.
From the minute we met Louis for the first time at the hotel, he put us at ease. He explained how things would work and took the time to answer the questions we had. I left my daughter there knowing she would be absolutely fine, and she was.
Throughout the whole experience, Louis was always in touch and updated us daily on everything we needed to know. Questions and queries were answered and, when we spoke to our daughter each day, she was always perfectly happy and secure in every situation.
It was clear that Louis displayed the perfect balance of fun and authority with the children, and this helped them know where they stood and where the lines were drawn.
Louis ensured that the experience was an extremely positive one for our daughter, and for us, and we’d be delighted if she was to be placed under his care again in the future!
Louis chaperoned my son for 6 months whilst he toured around the UK in School of Rock 2021-2022. Not only did Louis ensure my son was safe, educated and well looked after when away but he also built up an incredible bond and someone my son felt safe to go to with any problem big or small. Louis planned exciting days out for all the children when they were away creating amazing memories that will last a lifetime. My son always spoke very fondly of Louis and missed him incredibly when he left. Louis will remain in my son’s heart forever and he is eternally grateful for the nurture and support Louis showed him throughout his time away.
Whilst he was away with Louis in charge I never needed to worry, he kept us fully updated and was only ever a phone call away if I needed to contact him.
As a family we would like to thank him for his time and commitment to the children and how well he took care of our boy. We wish him all the best for the future and hope our paths cross again one day.
